SANITATION FESTIVAL IN FREETOWN
In Freetown, the Sierra Leone Urban Research Centre (SLURC) organized a Sanitation tour on World Toilet Day. The tour was joined by Municipal Authorities, NGOs, Community groups, manual and mechanical pit emptiers, and waste management companies celebrating all the women and men, boys and girls who maintain safe sanitation facilities and chains.
In Mwanza, the Center for Community Initatives (CCI) and Ardhi University are celebrating the variety of initiatives, projects and activities implemented by different stakeholders (public, private and community) sustaining safe sanitation across the city. Presentations, dances, songs and drawings catalysed public discussions around sanitation heroes, visions and taboos.
SANITATION FESTIVAL IN BEIRA
In Beira, COWI-Mozambique is organizing debates in partnership with the Mega-FM radio and launching a call for photographies to document sanitation heroes, solutions and taboos.
